2014 Paddy Pallin 6 Hour Event
"Yankee Hatagaine" Paddy Pallin 6hr Event, Yankee Hat, Namadgi National Park - 2 March 2014
Close to 500 people enjoyed a glorious day at Yankee Hat in Namadgi National Park for the ‘Yankee Hatagaine’, the 2014 Paddy Pallin 6hr Rogaine on Sunday 2 March. Numbers were boosted by the large contingent of ANU students preparing for the upcoming Inward Bound challenge.
With only a few clouds in the sky competitors planned their routes choosing the more open northern section, the bush in the south – or a mixture of the two! Plenty of wildlife was spotted – lizards galore, eagles and kangaroos with more than a few snakes out and about. One team even claimed they couldn't punch control 62 because there was a big snake at the control. They took a photo to prove they had been there!
Thanks to our wonderful event coordinator Glenn Bridgart; setter - Doug Collier; vetters - Mike and Marg Harrap, Colin Mock and Graham Atkins; admin team – Lyndall Adam and Julie Quinn; volunteers on the day - Kathy Saw, David Moore, Sarah Bishop, Lex Cogle, Leif Eldridge-Smith, Grant Battersby and Peter Young; caterers – Hartley Lifecare; and all the others who helped out to make the largest event on our annual calendar such a success!
Check out the newly decorated trailer at the end of the gallery - as well as photos of Barkley's Paddy Pallin adventures with Emelia and Geoff Dibley.
