2012 Metrogaine
Tuggergaine - 2012 Metrogaine, Tuggeranong, Canberra - 26th August 2012
108 competitors enjoyed a wonderful sunny Canberra day to explore the southern reaches of the Tuggeranong Valley for the 2012 Metrogaine. Glenn Bridgart set a great course that not only stretched the faster runners but allowed all to enjoy the magnificent Brindabella views.
The volunteers (ably led by Doug Collier) were nice and toasty warm in our most luxurious hash house ever - the Tuggeranong Valley Cricket Clubhouse. We had heaters, electricity to power the printer and laptop, and a full working kitchen to keep the coffee up! Bliss!
For the second year running a solo competitor took out top honours with Geoff Stacey winning the overall event, with Seb Dunne and Danielle Winslow taking out Mixed Open honours and second overall. Carol Harding, another solo competitor, took out the Women’s Open category. Congratulations to everyone who took part and enjoyed the day.
Thanks to Hartley Lifecare for some great food post-event. The volunteers were eyeing off some of those desserts well before the event finished, let me tell you!
