2010 Cyclegaine
Billapaloolagaine - 2010 Cyclegaine, Billapaloola Forest, east of Tumut - 25 July 2010
A beautiful day welcomed about 60 mountain bikers to the Billapaloola Cyclegaine on Sunday 25th July. 25 teams competed on a course that featured a good range of cycling from a bit of fast bitumen around the hash house to short sections of very sticky clay. Sweeping vistas were gained from the hilltops and blackberries negotiated to get to the controls off the road.
After final checking, Adrian Sheppard and David Baldwin won with 1530 points from Michael Munro-Mobbs and Bleeksie (Robert Bleeker) on 1480 points on a large course. Alina McMaster and Tom Landon-Smith took out the mixed and Jeannie Douglass and Julie Bassett were clear winners in the womens.
A big thank you to Steve Hanley and Danielle Winslow for setting, Julie Quinn for vetting, Greg Terrill and Sue Janas for admin, Glenn Bridgart, Roger Edwards and Sean McElhinney for admin, Wendy Elford for first aid, Sue and Glenn for getting the toilets and Hartley Lifecare for providing a fantastic feed in the middle of the hailstorm!
